The 20th Century Research Project has two goals:

The Documentation of an Epoch. This project wishes to make a contribution in respect to regard the 20th century as a whole. The links offered lead to information about the political, scientific and social developments of this time. Only the knowledge about past events enables one to understand the obligations and conflicts of the present.

With the records of people who have experienced and shaped the 20th century a personal note shall be set. The eventful and dramatic developements of the near past may best be reexperienced and partly relived this way. It is planed to publish the memories of the witnesses who were asked therefore later in form of a book.

Reflections on History. When regarding an eventful period of time with a lot of meaningful developments the question of a historical evaluation arises. What place may the 20th century take in the process of history? To try an estimation from the present would mean to anticipate future events at the same time. So the historic-philosophical judgements may vary.

The scientific part of this reserach project is dedicated to analyse the 20th century and its historical meaning.
